
For many travelers, settling into an airplane seat comes with a familiar routine. After fastening the seatbelt and storing carry-on bags, the next thing to look forward to is the beverage cart. Whether it's an early morning departure or a long overnight flight, a hot cup of coffee or tea can feel like the perfect way to relax at 35,000 feet.
But if you've ever watched the cabin crew closely, you may have noticed an interesting pattern.
Many flight attendants choose not to drink the coffee or tea served onboard. Instead, they often reach for bottled water or other beverages that come in sealed containers.
The reason isn't because the coffee beans or tea leaves are poor quality.
It has more to do with the water used to prepare those drinks.
