- Butter one side of each bread slice evenly from edge to edge.
- Place one slice butter-side down in a skillet over medium-low heat and add cheese on top.
- Top with the second slice, butter-side up, and cover the pan for 1 minute to encourage melting.
- Remove the lid and cook until the bottom is golden and crisp, then flip once.
- Cook the second side until golden and the cheese is fully melted. Slice and serve immediately.
