Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup cold unsalted butter, cubed
  • 3/4 cup buttermilk
  • 1 lb breakfast sausage
  • optional cheese slices

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F. Whisk flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  2. Cut in cold butter until coarse crumbs form. Stir in buttermilk until dough comes together.
  3. Roll dough to 1-inch thickness, cut biscuits, and bake 12–15 minutes until golden.
  4. Cook sausage patties in a skillet over medium heat until browned and cooked through.
  5. Split warm biscuits, add sausage (and cheese if desired), and serve.
