Ingredients
  

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2/3 cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3 tbsp melted butter
  • 2 cups diced apples
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1-2 tbsp milk for glaze
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract for glaze

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F and line a baking sheet with parchment.
  2. Whisk flour, sugars, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
  3. Stir in milk, egg, vanilla, and melted butter until just combined.
  4. Fold in diced apples.
  5. Scoop 12 mounds of batter onto the baking sheet.
  6. Bake 18–20 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Whisk powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla to make the glaze.
  8. Dip or drizzle warm fritters with glaze and let set.
