Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4-5 russet potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tbsp butter, cut into pieces

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F and lightly grease a 9x13 dish.
  2. Brown ground beef with onion and garlic. Drain excess fat.
  3. Season beef with salt, pepper, paprika, and Worcestershire.
  4. Whisk cream of mushroom soup and milk together.
  5. Layer half the potatoes in the dish.
  6. Add half the beef mixture, half the soup mixture, and cheese.
  7. Repeat layers and dot the top with butter.
  8. Cover and bake 50 minutes. Uncover and bake 20–25 minutes more.
  9. Rest 10 minutes before serving.
