Method
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease pan and line with parchment paper.
- Whisk flour, baking powder, baking soda, cardamom, and salt in a medium bowl. Stir in orange zest and poppy seeds.
- Beat softened butter and sugar until pale and fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time, beating well. Mix in vanilla extract.
- Stir orange juice and yogurt together. Gradually add dry ingredients and wet mixture to butter mixture, alternating, starting and ending with dry.
- Pour batter into pan and smooth top. Bake 45–55 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool in pan 10 minutes, run knife around edges, transfer to wire rack. Optionally drizzle with orange glaze.
