Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 lb ground sausage
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 8 oz mushrooms, sliced
  • 1/2 yellow onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 tsp marjoram
  • 3 cups marinara sauce
  • 6 English muffins, split
  • 2 oz pepperoni, diced
  • 1 1/2 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • salt and black pepper to taste

Method
 

  1. Brown ground beef and sausage in butter over medium heat. Season lightly with salt and pepper.
  2. Add mushrooms and onion. Cook until softened, then stir in garlic and marjoram.
  3. Stir in marinara sauce and simmer for 10 minutes. Adjust seasoning.
  4. Toast English muffins lightly and place on a baking sheet.
  5. Spoon sauce onto muffins, top with pepperoni and mozzarella.
  6. Broil until cheese is melted and bubbly. Serve warm.
