  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 3 cups whole milk
  • 4 jars dried chipped beef, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 4 slices toasted bread

Method
 

  1. Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat. Whisk in flour and cook for 1 minute.
  2. Slowly whisk in milk and cook until thickened, stirring constantly.
  3. Stir in chopped chipped beef and black pepper. Heat through.
  4. Spoon mixture over toasted bread and serve immediately.
