- Clean mushrooms gently and cut larger ones into bite-sized pieces.
- Set up breading station with seasoned flour, egg and buttermilk mixture, and panko breadcrumbs.
- Coat mushrooms in flour, dip in egg mixture, then roll in panko breadcrumbs.
- Heat oil and fry mushrooms in batches until golden and crisp. Drain on paper towels.
- Mix sour cream, mayonnaise, herbs, seasonings, and lemon juice to make ranch dip. Chill before serving.
