Ingredients
  

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3 cups granulated sugar
  • 6 large eggs, room temperature
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 0.5 cup shortening
  • 1 cup whole milk, room temperature
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 0.5 teaspoon baking powder
  • 0.25 teaspoon salt

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven and grease and flour a bundt or loaf pan.
  2. Cream butter, shortening, and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  4. Whisk flour, baking powder, and salt. Add to batter alternately with milk.
  5. Stir in vanilla, pour batter into pan, and bake until golden and set.
  6. Cool briefly, remove from pan, and cool completely before slicing.
