Ingredients
  

  • 2.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1.5 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 0.25 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 21 ounces cherry pie filling
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and grease a 9x13-inch baking pan.
  2. Mix flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Add butter, egg, and vanilla and mix until crumbly.
  3. Press two-thirds of the dough evenly into the bottom of the pan.
  4. Spread cherry pie filling evenly over the crust and drizzle with lemon juice.
  5. Crumble remaining dough over the top of the filling.
  6. Bake for 40–45 minutes until golden. Cool completely before slicing.
