Ingredients
  

  • 1 piece pie crust
  • 225 g ground sausage (pork or turkey)
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 medium bell pepper, diced
  • 150 g mushrooms, sliced
  • 150 g Monterey Jack cheese, shredded
  • 150 g cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 4 large eggs
  • 120 ml milk
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper

Method
 

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C. Place the pie crust into a pie dish and set aside.
  2. Cook the sausage in a skillet over medium heat, breaking it into small pieces until browned.
  3. Add onion, bell pepper, and mushrooms to the skillet and cook until softened. Remove from heat and cool slightly.
  4. Whisk eggs, milk, salt, and pepper in a bowl until smooth.
  5. Spread the sausage mixture evenly over the pie crust and top with both cheeses.
  6. Pour the egg mixture over the filling and gently shake the dish to distribute evenly.
  7. Bake for 35–40 minutes until the center is set and the top is lightly golden.
  8. Let the pie rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
