Ingredients
  

  • 3.75 cups all-purpose flour
  • 0.25 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2.25 tsp active dry yeast
  • 1 cup warm milk
  • 0.33 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1.5 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • 0.75 cup walnuts, chopped and toasted
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 0.25 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1.5 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp milk

Method
 

  1. Mix flour, sugar, salt, and yeast in a large bowl.
  2. Add warm milk, melted butter, and eggs. Mix until a soft dough forms.
  3. Knead until smooth and elastic. Cover and let rise until doubled in size.
  4. Roll dough into a rectangle. Spread butter and top with brown sugar, cinnamon, and walnuts.
  5. Roll tightly, slice into rolls, and place in a greased baking dish.
  6. Cover and let rise until puffy. Bake at 180°C until golden.
  7. Beat cream cheese, butter, vanilla, powdered sugar, and milk until smooth.
  8. Spread frosting over warm rolls and serve.

Notes

Serve warm for best texture. Frost while rolls are still slightly warm so it melts into the swirls.
