- Preheat oven to 325°F and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Cream butter and sugar together until smooth and light.
- Mix in vanilla extract until combined.
- Gradually add flour, mixing gently just until dough forms.
- Fold in chopped walnuts evenly.
- Drop small mounds onto prepared baking sheets and gently flatten.
- Bake 15–18 minutes until edges are lightly golden.
- Cool completely and dust with confectioners’ sugar if desired.
