Ingredients
  

  • 30 oz frozen hash browns, thawed
  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 3 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups milk
  • 2 cups sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

Method
 

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  2. Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir in flour and cook for 1 minute.
  3. Gradually whisk in milk and cook until thickened. Stir in garlic, salt, and pepper.
  4. Remove from heat and stir in cheddar cheese until melted, then mix in sour cream.
  5. Fold in thawed, dried hash browns and spread mixture into prepared dish.
  6. Cover and bake for 30 minutes. Uncover and bake an additional 20 minutes until golden.
