  • 1 can evaporated milk
  • 4 oz semi-sweet chocolate
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract (optional)

Method
 

  1. Combine sugar, evaporated milk, butter, and chocolate in a saucepan.
  2. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture reaches a steady boil.
  3. Continue boiling and stirring for 4–5 minutes.
  4. Remove from heat, stir briefly, and add vanilla if using.
  5. Pour into a lined pan and cool completely before cutting.
