Ingredients
  

  • 8 cups crumbled unsweetened cornbread
  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 1 cup chopped celery
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 2 tsp poultry seasoning
  • 1 tsp dried sage
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 3 cups chicken or turkey broth
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  2. Melt butter in a skillet. Sauté onion and celery until soft and fragrant.
  3. In a large bowl, combine crumbled cornbread, cooked vegetables, poultry seasoning, sage, salt, and pepper.
  4. Stir in beaten eggs and broth gradually until mixture is very moist.
  5. Spread mixture evenly in prepared dish.
  6. Bake uncovered for 40–45 minutes until golden on top and set in the center.

Notes

Use unsweetened cornbread. Add broth gradually until mixture is very moist but not soupy.
