Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup water
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter or vegan butter
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 0.25 tsp salt
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 tsp vanilla extract or orange zest (optional)
  • 0.5 cup granulated sugar (coating)
  • 1.5 tsp ground cinnamon (coating)

Method
 

  1. Bring water, butter, sugar, and salt to a simmer. Stir in flour until a dough forms.
  2. Let dough cool slightly, then stir in vanilla or zest if using.
  3. Portion dough into bite-sized pieces and place on a lined baking sheet.
  4. Bake at 400°F until golden or air-fry at 375°F until crisp.
  5. Toss warm bites in cinnamon sugar and serve.
