Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.5 cup cold unsalted butter, cubed
  • 0.75 cup buttermilk
  • 1 lb breakfast sausage
  • 0.25 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2.5 cups whole milk
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 0.5 tsp salt

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F and line a baking sheet.
  2. Mix flour, baking powder, and salt. Cut in butter until crumbly.
  3. Stir in buttermilk, gently form dough, cut biscuits, and bake 12–15 minutes.
  4. Brown sausage in a skillet until fully cooked.
  5. Sprinkle flour over sausage, stir, then slowly add milk.
  6. Simmer until thick, season with salt and pepper, and serve over biscuits.
