Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/3 cup pure maple syrup
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 3 tablespoons pure maple syrup (for icing)
  • 1 tablespoon milk or cream

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Cream butter and sugar until smooth. Mix in maple syrup, egg, and vanilla.
  3. Stir in flour, baking powder, and salt until just combined.
  4. Scoop dough onto baking sheet and bake 10–12 minutes until set.
  5. Whisk icing ingredients and spread over cooled cookies. Let set before serving.
