  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 1 jar dried chipped beef, sliced
  • black pepper, to taste
  • 4 slices bread, toasted and buttered

Method
 

  1. Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat.
  2. Whisk in flour and cook 1 minute until smooth.
  3. Gradually whisk in milk and cook until thickened.
  4. Stir in chipped beef and season with pepper.
  5. Serve hot over buttered toast.
