Ingredients
  

  • 1 large green cabbage
  • 1 lb ground beef or turkey
  • 1 cup cooked rice
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 egg (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 2 cups mixed vegetables (carrots, onions, peppers)
  • 2 cups tomato sauce

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F and soften cabbage leaves in boiling water.
  2. Mix meat, rice, onion, garlic, egg, and seasonings.
  3. Fill and roll cabbage leaves.
  4. Spread vegetables in baking dish and place rolls on top.
  5. Pour sauce over, cover, and bake 60 minutes. Uncover last 10 minutes.
