Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup hot coffee or hot water
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla or coffee extract
  • 8 oz semi-sweet chocolate, chopped
  • 1 cup heavy cream

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and grease two round cake pans.
  2. Mix flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Add eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla. Mix until smooth, then stir in hot coffee.
  4. Divide batter evenly and bake 30–35 minutes. Cool completely.
  5. Beat cream cheese, powdered sugar, and extract until smooth.
  6. Layer cakes with creamy filling between each layer.
  7. Heat cream and pour over chocolate. Stir until smooth.
  8. Pour ganache over cake and let set before slicing.
