Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 0.75 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 0.75 cup milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 4 cups oil for frying

Method
 

  1. In a bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and nutmeg.
  2. In another bowl, mix butter and eggs until smooth. Stir in milk and vanilla.
  3. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients, mixing just until combined.
  4. Roll dough to 1/2-inch thickness and cut into donut shapes.
  5. Heat oil to 350°F and fry donuts until golden on both sides.
  6. Remove donuts and drain on a wire rack. Glaze or dust as desired.
