Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 4 medium potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 cup milk or broth
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 onion, diced (optional)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Lightly grease a 9x13 baking dish.
  2. Brown ground beef with onion, salt, and pepper. Drain excess grease.
  3. Whisk condensed soup with milk or broth until smooth.
  4. Layer potatoes, beef, cheese, and sauce. Repeat layers. Pour remaining sauce over top.
  5. Cover with foil and bake 60–70 minutes. Uncover and bake 10–15 minutes until golden.
