Ingredients
  

  • 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1/4 cup warm water
  • 1/2 cup warm milk
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

Method
 

  1. Dissolve yeast in warm water with a pinch of sugar and let it foam.
  2. Mix warm milk, melted butter, sugar, egg, and salt in a bowl.
  3. Add yeast mixture and gradually mix in flour to form a soft dough.
  4. Knead until smooth, then let rise until doubled in size.
  5. Shape rolls, let rise again, brush with egg yolk, and bake until golden.
