Ingredients
  

  • 4–6 whole ripe but firm pears
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves
  • 1/2 lemon zest
  • 1/2 cup crumbled blue cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped walnuts or pecans
  • 1 tablespoon dried cranberries or cherries (optional)
  • freshly ground black pepper to taste

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F and prepare a baking dish.
  2. Core pears from the bottom, keeping stems intact.
  3. Mix blue cheese, nuts, dried fruit, thyme, and pepper.
  4. Fill pears with cheese mixture, drizzle with honey, and add lemon zest.
  5. Bake until pears are tender and cheese is melted. Garnish and serve.
