Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb beef sirloin or round steak, cut into tips
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil or butter
  • 8 oz fresh mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 pinch paprika

Method
 

  1. Season beef with salt and pepper. Brown in hot oil until seared. Remove and set aside.
  2. In the same skillet, sauté mushrooms until browned. Add onion and garlic and cook until soft.
  3. Sprinkle flour over vegetables and stir to coat evenly.
  4. Gradually add milk while stirring to form a smooth gravy.
  5. Stir in Worcestershire sauce, thyme, and paprika. Simmer until thickened.
  6. Return beef to the skillet and simmer briefly until heated through.
