Ingredients
  

  • 12–15 fresh jalapeños
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • to taste salt and pepper
  • as needed vegetable oil for frying

Method
 

  1. Slice jalapeños and remove seeds if desired.
  2. Mix flour and seasonings in one bowl. Whisk egg and milk in another. Place breadcrumbs in a third bowl.
  3. Coat jalapeños in flour, dip in egg mixture, then coat with breadcrumbs.
  4. Fry in 350°F oil until golden brown, about 2–3 minutes per batch.
  5. Drain on paper towels and serve hot.
