- Add the water and whole cloves to a small saucepan.
- Bring to a gentle simmer over medium heat. Reduce heat and simmer for 8–10 minutes to infuse.
- Turn off the heat and let the tea steep for 2–3 minutes for a stronger flavor, if desired.
- Strain into a mug. Sweeten with honey and add lemon juice if you like. Serve warm.
