- Preheat oven to 350°F and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Whisk flour, baking powder, and salt in a bowl and set aside.
- Beat butter until creamy, then add sugars and beat until light and fluffy.
- Add egg, vanilla, and almond extract and mix until combined.
- Gradually mix in dry ingredients until a smooth dough forms.
- Scoop dough onto baking sheets, flatten slightly, and bake 10–12 minutes.
- Cool briefly on baking sheets, then transfer to racks. Decorate if desired.
