- Preheat oven to 350°F and prepare two 9-inch cake pans.
- Mix dry ingredients. Cream butter and sugar, add eggs, vanilla, bananas, and buttermilk, then combine with dry ingredients.
- Divide batter between pans and bake 25–30 minutes. Cool completely.
- Beat frosting ingredients until smooth and fluffy.
- Assemble cake with frosting between layers and on top.
- Heat cream and pour over chocolate chips to make ganache. Pour over cake.
