Ingredients
  

  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 2 stalks celery, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 0.25 cup all-purpose flour
  • 14 oz diced tomatoes
  • 4 cups seafood or chicken stock
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 0.5 tsp dried thyme
  • 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 0.5 lb lump crab meat
  • 1 cup heavy cream

Method
 

  1. Sauté onion, celery, and garlic in butter until softened.
  2. Stir in flour and cook briefly, then add stock, tomatoes, and spices.
  3. Simmer until slightly thickened, then add shrimp and cook until pink.
  4. Fold in crab and cream, heat gently, and season to taste.
