Ingredients
  

Main Ingredients
  • 2 slices bread (Sourdough, white, wheat, Texas toast — your choice) Choose sturdy bread for best results.
  • 1-2 slices cheese (Cheddar, American, Swiss, mozzarella, or a mix) Melty cheese varieties for optimal flavor.
  • 1 tablespoon butter or mayonnaise (softened, for spreading on the outside) Mayo makes the sandwich crispier than butter.
Optional Add-Ins
  • sliced tomato Adds freshness.
  • crispy bacon Makes it heartier.
  • avocado For creaminess.
  • caramelized onions Adds sweetness.
  • spinach, arugula, or jalapeños For a veggie twist or spice.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for 2–3 minutes.
  2. Spread butter or mayo on one side of each slice of bread.
  3. Lay one slice buttered side down, add cheese (and any extras), and top with the other slice, buttered side up.
Cooking
  1. Place the sandwich in the air fryer basket.
  2. Cook at 375°F for 4–5 minutes, flip, then cook another 2–3 minutes.
  3. Check for a golden brown exterior and melting cheese.
Serving
  1. Let the sandwich sit for 1 minute before slicing to let the cheese set slightly.
  2. Cut diagonally and enjoy!
