Preparation Steps
- Lay the boneless, skinless chicken breasts in the bottom of your crockpot, ensuring they’re evenly spread out for even cooking.
- Sprinkle the chicken with smoked paprika, brown sugar, salt, and black pepper; then layer the finely diced onion and minced garlic on top for added flavor.
- Pour in your favorite barbecue sauce and chicken broth, covering the chicken completely, and creating a flavorful sauce that will keep the meat moist.
- Set your crockpot to cook on low for 5-6 hours or high for 3-4 hours, until the chicken is fork-tender and reaches an internal temperature of 165°F.
- Once cooked, remove the chicken from the crockpot and shred it using two forks. Return the shredded chicken back to the pot, mixing it well with the sauce.
- Cook on low for another 15-20 minutes to allow those mouthwatering flavors to meld together beautifully.
- If desired, toast the sandwich buns, then spoon the BBQ chicken onto each bun and top with your choice of optional toppings.

Notes
For added flavor, consider adding a splash of apple cider vinegar or your favorite hot sauce to the barbecue sauce. Ensure leftovers are stored in an airtight container for optimal freshness.
