Steps
- Start by cutting the 2 pounds of beef steak into 1-inch cubes and dicing 4 medium potatoes. Soak the potatoes in cold water for 10 minutes to remove excess starch.
- Place the cubed steak at the bottom of the crockpot, then layer the diced potatoes on top. Pour in 1 cup of beef broth, along with 1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce, 1 teaspoon each of garlic and onion powder, and season with salt and pepper. Gently stir to combine all the ingredients.
- Cover the crockpot, adjusting the setting to low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours.
- Once the cooking time is up, stir in 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese and 1 cup of sour cream until melted and nicely incorporated. Garnish with ½ cup of chopped green onions before serving.
