Preparation Steps
- Preheat the oven to 350°F. In a sauté pan, melt butter with sliced apples, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Sauté for 5-6 minutes until tender and fragrant, then remove from heat and cool.
- In a bowl, mix graham cracker crumbs, melted butter, granulated sugar, and a pinch of salt until combined. Spread on a baking sheet and bake for 7-10 minutes until golden brown; allow to cool.
- In a mixing bowl, beat cream cheese, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth. Fold in heavy cream until fluffy.
- Layer the trifles in small jars or cups by adding graham cracker crumbs, followed by cream cheese mixture, then sautéed apples. Repeat and finish with a layer of apples.
- Serve chilled or slightly cool. Optional: Garnish with cinnamon or whipped cream.
