How to Make Tender Slow Cooker Mississippi Chicken
  1. Start by coating the inside of your slow cooker with non-stick cooking spray.
  2. Scatter the diced onion at the bottom of the slow cooker.
  3. Place the chicken breasts on top of the diced onion.
  4. Generously sprinkle the ranch dressing mix and au jus gravy mix over the chicken.
  5. Toss in the pepperoncini peppers along with their juice.
  6. Plop the butter right on top of the chicken.
  7. Cover your slow cooker and set it to cook on high for 4-5 hours or low for 6-7 hours.
  8. Once cooked, use two forks to shred the chicken directly in the slow cooker.
