A nostalgic, crowd-pleasing taco salad tossed with seasoned beef, crisp vegetables, Catalina dressing, and crunchy Doritos.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 packet taco seasoning
  • 1/3 cup water
  • 1 head iceberg lettuce, chopped
  • 2 cups cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup diced red onion
  • 1 can black beans, rinsed and drained
  • 1 cup Catalina dressing
  • 1 bag Nacho Cheese Doritos, crushed

Method
 

  1. Brown the ground beef over medium heat.
  2. Add taco seasoning and water. Simmer until thickened.
  3. Cool the seasoned beef slightly.
  4. In a large bowl, combine lettuce, tomatoes, onion, cheese, and beans.
  5. Add the cooled taco meat and toss lightly.
  6. Pour in Catalina dressing and mix gently.
  7. Add crushed Doritos just before serving and toss again.
  8. Serve immediately for best texture.
