- Preheat oven to 350°F and line a 9×4-inch loaf pan with parchment.
- Whisk flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, and ginger.
- Cream butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add warm water, milk, vanilla, and eggs one at a time, mixing until smooth.
- Mix in dry ingredients just until combined.
- Fold in candied peel and toasted nuts.
- Pour batter into loaf pan and bake 40–50 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool completely, then beat cream cheese, powdered sugar, and cream to make frosting.
- Frost the loaf and slice to serve.
