Preparation
- Drain the maraschino cherries well and gently pat them dry with a paper towel to remove excess liquid.
Melting Chocolate
- Microwave the white chocolate in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until smooth or melt over a double boiler on low heat.
Dipping Cherries
- Holding each cherry by the stem, dip it into the melted chocolate until it’s about ¾ covered.
- Immediately sprinkle crushed peppermint over the chocolate before it sets.
Setting Cherries
- Place the dipped cherries on a parchment-lined baking sheet and let them sit at room temperature or refrigerate until firm.
Optional Drizzle
- Mix a drop or two of red food coloring into leftover melted chocolate and drizzle it over the set cherries.

Chill before serving to help the coating set beautifully. Avoid freezing the cherries as they can become watery when thawed.
